Opinions wanted!

I've been laxed in my firearm obsession lately and somewhat started getting more into blades. Let's start with I do not need any other knife. I have plenty that do not even get used. But I have been thinking about another folder. I am not looking to spend a lot of money. I want partially serrated. And I would prefer a "flipper style"/ assisted opening. I was originally interested in crkt's m16-10ks. But from videos and reviews it's seems it will not be comfortable in hand.....I somewhat looked into a Gerber evo tanto or the evo jr.

Anyone use either of these and have an opinion? Any other suggestions from you find folks?

I have so many knives I have lost track of half of them. Either the kids take em or they end up in a tool box sitting around until I discover them again. Here are the ones I could find on short notice. The kershaws are nice little folders that fit just about anywhere, the CRKT is a large knife and I have trouble carrying it where I normally carry the other two. I cannot find my Gerber Rex Applegate folder but it is not a spring assisted opener, it is the knife I carry the most. However it's whereabouts are alluding me at this time.

Well I haven't noticed it, of course I have only had the knife for two months and have not made it work very hard either. The larger kershaw and the Gerber get most of the work.

Middle of the road pricing, I like both the Kershaw and the CRKT's. I own quite of few of each of them. What kind of price range are you looking.

I was seeing the crkt for around $25-$30 and some of the gerbers were $12-$25 depending on size....I did see a Kershaw dicks exclusive "brookside" for $20 but it is not serrated.

Under $40 is a good number to toss out I suppose.

I would look at Kershaw, CRKT, Gerber, and maybe add Schrade to that list.

I think that I have posted this somewhere in the blades forum before but, in addition to carrying a Kershaw Leek ( not serated ) I also Carry this Gerber mid size EVO Tanto, with some seration. It's not spring assisted, but it opens extremely smooth and quick with an ever so slight flick of the wrist and use of the thumb post. So far, it's been a very hand little knife.

You might want to take a look at the Gerber Paraframe Serrated. I have the non-serrated. Been carrying it for 5 years. Holds a good edge and feels pretty good in the hand. I like how thin it is. You don't even know you have it on you. These are my daily carry knives.
The top one is a cheapo S&W, its very sharp and I dont care if it breaks.
2nd down is a cheap assisted open from walmart for $3.97, Ozark Trail I believe. It is very sharp and way better quality than I thought it would be.
Third down isa Kershaw Speed Safe
assisted open. Its very sharp and very fast opening. It was $20 and came with the little Kershaw on the bottom, which is sharp and cool.
The fourth down is a Gerber Paraframe 2. Very sharp and opens easily with the thumb.
All have pocket clips except for the little Kershaw.
All were inexpensive but work great.
Ive been carrying the Kershaw Speed Safe lately, its fast and sleek and hides in the pocket the best even though its the longest.

Love the looks of CRKT M16, I even bought one but returned it once I found it can't be carried Tip Up!

I have found what I consider the perfect knife for me,
it's the Kershaw skyline,
I have purchased tons of other knives but this one is perfect for me

Well I saw the CRKT m16-10ks for $19.99 so I grabbed it. Figured for the price it isn't a terribly large investment in something I really have no actual need for. This isn't something I plan on carrying right now. I have other knives I use daily. I was looking for a assisted open style folder and wanted serrations. I am thinking the most use it will get is leaving it with my camping gear, Probably will cut some rope/ cord, open things. I don't plan on having this as a defensive knife or survival knife. I will make a video when I open it up and see what my impressions are if anyone is interested in it.

Edit: I was turned off by the fact it can not be carried tip up. This makes no sense to me for the style but I am not planning on having it in my pocket much/ needing it deployed quick so it isn't a huge deal.

A 50/50 serrated blade is the most useless knife made - jmho. Have had a few Spyderco Enduras with fully serrated blades, they are chainsaws without an engine - love 'em. -- 50 /50 blades- not so much.
