This thread is for the repeaters that you can actually both transmit on and hear clearly from your home. I have a lot of repeaters that I can hear but cannot reach and be heard on. I'm trying to find a frequency or a number of frequencies that the majority of us can all use in an emergency that we can transmit on where the repeater picks up your transmission clearly and that can also be heard clearly in your home. Do not post repeaters that you have to drive to another location to access. Only post the ones that you know for a fact that you can receive clearly from your home and transmit on and be heard from your home.

I did a test on various repeaters by talking to myself with 2 radios and the only ones that I can actually hear myself on clearly are below. After you guys test your own, we can narrow it down to a few frequencies that we can reach each other on in case of an emergency where regular COMS go down.

Here are the only ones that I can both hear and be heard from while in my home.

145.2500 -0.6 MHz Tone in 100.0 Washingtonville, Schunnemunk Mtn Orange WB2BQW

443.8000 +5 MHz Tone in 114.8 Washingtonville Orange N2ACF

445.9000 -5 Mhz Tone in 82.5 Washingtonville Orange KH2H

146.9700 -0.6 Mhz Tone in 100 Beacon/ Mt Beacon Dutchess AE2AN

443.550 +5 MHz TSQL in 156.7 Mt Beacon KC2OUR

Haven't tested but sure I'm good on the Washingtonville repeaters posted above as I'm looking at the top of Schunnemunk Mt from my window...

You should also be clear on this one. I’m a lot further away than you I think and I can hit it.

Was listening in to 443.800 the other night... clear as day. Guys hitting it were in Catskills ... Liberty & Ellenville area IIRC. I'm at top of Storm King Mt about 850' elevation with clear view for miles (can see at least 8 mountain tops from my window).

Posted before. Schunnemunk Mt is third in foreground.

yrs ago the ham club from Bath NY had a few repeaters all over .. all were linked up .. i could hit the local one here and it would link to one down by the PA border to talk with hams from down there and up to Buffalo too ..

yrs ago when doing packet radio .. i would hit bristol NY .. then relay to another then to another and end up on Lonny London / NY and end up packeting with UK peeps ..
