So crazy so many mass shooting just before the rulling, BUT while in the kitchen, with the morning News (Propaganda show) on (waiting to hear the weather) I thought heard Rosanne Scotto say while discussing Gun Control that the new moron in charge of NYS allready has legislation prepaired for when the Supreme court anounces there findings . Has any body heard this? was this a slip?

Supreme Court was waiting for something like this to throw out all gun cases or rule against us and let GOP handlers tell us, it wasn't the right time.
It's a standard operating procedure. Hopelessly naive here thought it's a matter of making a magical legal argument. The lawyer said blah blah blah, therefore they will have to rule so and so. If you are in your 20's and think that, you are forgiven, but if you are over 50 and don't see the pattern, you are plain stupid.

From what happened, I don't expect anything to change.

Ask me when the oral arguments came out, I had a slightly different opinion. But now I don't see anything happening except more violence with hardened criminals getting any device they want to cause more tragedies.

You better believe the criminals are laughing their asses off right now at us law abiders.

Opinion will come down on June 30th. It will say that any applicants who indicate they want a permit in order to carry for self-defense cannot be denied for that reason alone. This, in turn, will change nothing whatsoever, as NYS will continue to beat its people down with suffocating legislation and burdensome requirements to exercise their Constitutional rights. Have a nice day!

I mean the Gov has been saying this openly since day one.... so not sure how it could be a slip.... this has been common knowledge since oral arguments back in November 2021

The big problem is that this case opinion won’t go far enough. New York will pass laws like they must be locked up and unloaded, limit places where people can carry to the point that one can’t carry where most people can now like a bank, public transportation, etc. They are just waiting to see how to get around the language of the ruling.

It always bothered me just how narrow in scope some of these lawsuits and rulings are and can be, even in the face of an obviously unconstitutional law and crimes against the Constitution. How is it the state can legally spend so much money and effort to try and take away your civil rights? Makes you wonder why it isn't possible to sue the state for their continued effort to maliciously strip it's people of their rights (IE. gun control).

I also don't like the whole severability clause built into bills like the safe act. If any part of a given law is found to be unconstitutional, the whole law should be struck and not just a specific part. It should be struck and the legislature reprimanded for being irresponsible in their duty to uphold the Constitution. The idea being that if one part of the law is found to be unconstitutional, it is considered to be poisoned fruit and that it stands to reason other parts of the law or even the whole thing are just as unconstitutional.
It shouldn't take multiple lawsuits to weed that out. Rather the law gets scrapped and it's on the legislature to get it's shit together and straighten up and fly right.

I may be wrong. But I thought the case was about "restrictions" on the concealed carry permit after you provided special justification to get the concealed-carry permit.

I thought it was about after you provided special justification to get a concealed-carry permit you were restricted from taking it outside of your home.

Big deal! The law always did say "shall issue" for "premises permits", even though through the capricious and arbitrary nature of the Sullivan Law being "administered" by each county in that county's capricious and arbitrary way that too was bastardized and ignored.

Out of the eight states that the author blames the NRA, remember this, Only New York has a list of every handgun you own, make the model serial number as well as your complete pedigree and people that you know. When the time comes that they want to make your life miserable, they can and will.
If the ruling deems the permit scheme unconstitutional, (which it won't) then the entire database and every record collected since the 1911 Sullivan Act was created needs to be destroyed as well as the funds collected returned to the injured parties.
Now there is a lawsuit I could get behind. Hell, I'll even forfeit the fees I paid just to get the records destroyed.

This in conjunction with the Roe decision will cause the greatest conflagration of exploding liberal heads in history.
It will cause a concentration of sissies, loopy's, genderqueer, pussy hat-wearing, thots, hoes, soccer moms, and college students to flood the streets, shouting screaming, and gnashing their teeth that the country hasn't seen since the "summer of love". Could be very entertaining. Hell, it may even make Don "Hands Up Don't Shoot" Lemon cry on the air.

But after the dust settles and the smoke clears. NY State will continue to infringe upon our Second Amendment Rights, and we will let them continue to infringe, because "we" are GodDamn Law Abiding, em'efing, citizens. And while the pussy hats will flood the streets, we have to work and just don't have the time.

Way too much cost involved.

This is why Prosecutors have no choice except to believe the cops.
If a cop swears on an affidavit that you did something wrong, the prosecutor has to issue a warrant.
If the cop is later found out that he lied. The case "can" be thrown out.
Then once the cop is deemed to be a lying piece of shit, every case he ever testified in or sworn to can be "retried" and his testimony impeached. Imagine the cost!
Now some would call this corruption or an unjust justice system.
Yeah, like NY Politics calls three men in a room or pay to play just New York politics as usual instead of corruption. People in glass houses .......

This is why the cops in Texas are in deep shit. They are saying their procedures were to eliminate the threat first, but the commander on the scene chose to "shelter in place" or as the Police call it, "secure the perimeter".
The town will simply say you can't sue us, sue that coward bastard over there that didn't follow our procedures.
