Why do they wait until right before they leave office to pardon these people?

If they're being incarcerated unjustly, shouldn't they be pardoned on day one, not 4 years later???

As far as he’s concerned we’ve never been made safer by keeping people in jail so he let out murderers, arsonists, and kidnappers. As far as I know not many people by percentage of the population comity these crimes so yes these people being let out make us less safe.

Why do they wait until right before they leave office to pardon these people?

1) Because they know the People will be furious, so they avoid repercussions by simply not being in office anymore.

2) The chaos that will occur because violent felons are released to re-offend can be blamed on the opposite party, hoping people will forget who it was that actually released the crime into society (sadly they are not wrong)
