unfortunately, I let mine lapse. I couldn't find the time to go all the way to Erie to re-apply. I guess im going to have to jump through the hoops to get it again

Hoops? The 20 minutes it took the first time was hardly comparable to the hoops we have to jump through in NY. The renewal took the same 20 minutes.

I did my renewal in Scranton this past February, 20 minutes and $20 in and out.
Going to use it tomorrow when I drive down and get some crackers to celebrate Trumps win next week.

Scranton took me 40 minutes because I had to park across the street and then there was someone in line ahead of me when I got up to the office.

I meant getting the time to get to Erie Pa, to put the paper work through again.
Ya, the first time it took me longer to find a parking space than get through the process. And the nice lady at the counter was a delight to talk to. Friendly (as opposed to the miserable dicks at the county clerks office), funny and easy on the eyes. LOL

Wyoming County issued me a non resident CCW even though I do not have CCW from NYC. I explained it's impossible to get one and they honored my NYC Premise/Residence permit and Utah non resident CCW.
Mailed in and it took 1 week. Drove there for the photo and to pickup. Was in and out in 15 minutes.

Wyoming county is where I went in august. Mailed all the paperwork on a Monday, and on Friday I got the call to come in for a photo and to sign.

From the Lackawanna Cty Sheriffs dept webpage it seems the issuance of non-res permits is temporarily suspended due to Covid. It appears they are only issuing resident permits by appointment only. I believe they'll reinstate non-res when (if) things settle down.
No it says both are by appointment. Anyway I’ll get them a call and I’ll update everyone

Just did a renewal at Centre County , YES its along drive. But the people were nice, cost 20.00 and was out in less then 10 minutes. We did have an appointment

I thought it was due to Covid,but when I talked to the person on the phone, I asked that question, and they said they don’t plan on issuing out of state permits in the future. So to me it seemed that they won’t anymore. But then again the person I was speaking to could have been wrong, and until they come out and say that officially, it’s a grain of salt situation.

Unfortunately Pike County no longer issues non res. They stopped back in 2013 iirc. Pike is only about 30 minutes from me. Lackawanna is 90 minutes each way. It is what it is

Again they are breaking state law.
PA has a preemptive law making it illegal for counties and cities to enact stricter gun laws than the state laws..
State law is they issue non resident licenses

That would require someone who cares enough and has the financial backing to pursue legal action. I've got neither.

Does the state law *require* them to issue any licenses ?
They would certainly be violating the law if they refused to honor a non resident, but I'm not sure they have to issue anything.
They have to issue according with their issuing laws..
Ie they have to meet the same standards as the residents and have an equivalent permit/license in their home state aka for NY an unrestricted license
