One of my best friends growing up is now a PA State Trooper. I worry about him and his welfare every day. He has a lot of funny stories but a lot of awful ones too. To all our LEOs out there, stay safe.
Domestics are absolutely the worst type of calls. They can turn in a blink of an eye.

I'm no expert, but shouldn't there be a specific protocol for domestics based on how often they turn violent?
I'm the domestic violence sergeant for my precinct. I worry every day when the cops go out to do home visits. Thankfully most of the time everything is fine and the victim is appreciative of our concern, but sometimes I get confirmation of why unhooking my holster everytime is a smart move.

Domestics are very unpredictable. One recently in my town turned violent and a knife was pulled on an officer. The guy advanced a bit and dropped the knife thankfully. The cop was a young cop. There are just too many unknowns and every situation is different.
It seems PA has had it rough lately. A lot of officers killed in the line of duty. I would love to see my dad retire. He says 3 more years. There is an all out war in this country on the police. I hope Trump takes this more serious than Obama did and it turns around. I fear things will get worse before they get better. RIP to all the fallen officer and veterans. May those living stay that way. I'm thankful for those who serve everyday.
