Bought a Ruger MPR (just arrived at the store). I'm back in NY attending to a few things, but heading back to PA fairly soon. Also bought a bunch of 9MM just to have more. Trying to decide on optic to put on the MPR.

To make sure I understand this correctly, I would need the tax stamp if I attach it to the rifle.... But do I need to have the stamp if it is just sitting in a box or on a AR pistol? (Just trying to understand the timing on this.)

I am not 100% sure on how it works since I don't have a driver license in PA, so I cannot file for tax stamps.

As far as I know, you can own the upper but you officially cannot put it on the SCR (under pain of imprisonment/violation of NFA) until you have received your tax stamp.

Any suggestions - want it to handle 5.56 (at least) so I was thinking .30 cal?
Any thought on Silencer Central's Banish 30? Banish 30
They are doing a BOGO (sort of) and will also throw in a .22 for "free": BANISH 22K-V2 (Would cost $206 for the stamp).

Mine are Griffin, I have a Griffin AR that I love so I just stuck with them for cans.

.223/5.56 out of a .30 suppressor is fine. A .223/5.56 suppressor would be a few decibels quieter though.

I ran a Griffin Recce 7 on my AR for while. Eventually picked up a Recce 5 and moved the 7 to my Henry .30-30.
