Finally caved. I just ordered this:

I'm not going to order the lower just yet. They go on sale for $79.99 frequently. I'll wait till then.

Does anyone know if the Magpul mags work well with Palmetto lowers?

Also can I switch to Magpul MOE handguards?

I'm new to the AR-10 world, and .308 honestly. Just got my .30-30 dies today, guess .308 is next lol.

Not worth it since I'm only doing one. I looked into it. The jig alone is like double the price of a Palmetto PA-10 lower.

Besides, with AR-10 there are compatibility issues.

Lol trust me, I'm done for awhile.

I have a few AR's already and a KS-47 also from Palmetto. An AR-10 was the last thing I really wanted AR related.

I'm weird in that I've always only wanted one gun for each role. I'm doubled up on bolt guns and levers so that makes me anxious in a weird way. I've already built and ended up selling a few AR's that I never used.

I seem to have an issue with calibers. I only have a couple calibers that I only have one gun chambered in.

I started with building one AR-308 and well, now I have a few in different configurations for different rolls. I also seem to have to have a bolt gun as a companion for every caliber I have a semi in. I really need a bigger house.

nope, I do have an Aero, a Matrix Aerospace, some Go Ballistics and a DPMS. Only the Matrix Aerospace is not compatible, upper, lower, barrel nut, and a few parts of the lower parts kit ( pins, bolt catch, rear detent Spring) with any of the others, they all share the same mags though. I have that set up with a red dot and back up irons its primary role is to put anything that comes through the door back where it came from. You may want to talk to @Bullet Guy about the compatibility of PSA receivers.

Yes there are compatibility issues.

Buy the lower and lower parts kit from the same manufacturer. Also there buffer system is different than a regular 308 buffer system.

So you might as well buy the buffer and the tube from them while you're there.

Got the upper today. I have to confess I've never actually touched an AR-10. This thing is seriously beefed up compared to an AR-15. I can't wait to get the lower and shoot it! I have a few boxes of Vietnam-era .308 I can't wait to shoot. After that, all reloads.

Oh and I plan to spray paint it!

I think I'd just swap it out for a low profile gas block before I started hacking away.

Yes. IMO pinned gas blocks are better than set screw/clamp on blocks.

If your going to cut it off use a cutting wheel and air compressor. If you don't have a wiz wheel yet they are $20 from harbor freight.

And if you paint it digital stay with a respectful woodland green or desert tan don't go with that's faggy army colors.
