does anyone here have any experience with the PSAK-47 gen 2? Good or bad? I am considering picking one up. I know PSA is somewhat new to the AK market so any feedback is much appreciated!

Agreed. I am wondering how the quality and longevity will compare to century's RAS-47. I currently own one and it has run flawlessly (only 300 rounds or so). I also have seen all the horror stories online about the RAS-47.

Why not just buy an old pre-ban? A Norinco from the 1970's or 1980's? It says on the website that PSA wants $600+ bucks. Aren't the old Chinese Norinko ones at gun shows for about $250 to $300? At least they were in GA in the mid 2000's.

My AK is a total safe queen and has been for decades. I will never use it again since I have a Golani. Once you have a Galil or Golani, you will never want to shoot your AK. I should probably trade it away for something I would actually use like a Henry 22 LR.

Umm..... you know the price stayed the same from 1995 to 2010 give or take 50 bucks, right? They are just Norinco's. The price never goes up. In fact, the price of their M14 has been consistant from like 1995 to present. You can still go to Toronto and get them all day long for $499 NIB. But thanks for being sarcastic and trolling me.

I pay more than $650 for most any and all new ak from my distributors. Many are 100s more than that.
Canada can import chinese stuff too. So? Canada can import and sell chinese 5.56 too. They sell for like $.14 or so i think.
I have a box of fifty 45acp ammo with a tag of like $12.99.....but those days are gone.

You can view this place as an opportunity to generate revenue for your company. I'm sorry if my experiences with prices gets in the way of that for you. But getting AK's for $300 or $400 happens every day. I hear they are $200 in Gloversville, actually. Heard that more than once in fact. If you don't like people talking about prices because it might impact a sale for you; just man up and say that's what it is. At least then folks know not to talk dollars on a thread you are in (or started). Yeah I'm an "snippy old fuck caught in the past" just like you are are a shyster trying to jack people for cash. I think I paid about $400 for my pre-ban in 2011 so I had one that was allowed in NY if I ever decided to bring it up from GA. Nobody would ever give me anywhere near those numbers. If they would; I'd flip the thing tomorrow. It's useless to me since I have a Golani (I think those are Century Arms?). I'd take the $1,500 and get a 338 Lapua with it.

Go on the sturmgeweher web site and check out prices. If you have an older polytech or norinco AK 47 they go for stupid money now. Who imported it? There will be importation marks on the receiver

It says KSI Pamona CA. I believe it's an old Norinco Type 56. I can't find anything except a 5 digit serial number and the KSI stamp. Nothing to clue me in for the date of manufacture.

AK's have their application. Cheap, durable, easy to maintain in the field, I think about 2-3 MOA's, and it's 30 cal. But yeah I'm like you - I don't see much reason to pull an AK out of the safe. Just cheap crap, and if you want to hit paper at 300 or 400 you might find yourself rather annoyed.
