Parking the camper for the winter stone driveway ok

I have a 17' jayco hybrid that weighs in about 3,500 lbs and is single axel. I park it on my driveway for the winter, but just have not had the time or funds to build a paver patio to put my lawn furniture on for the summer and the camper for the winter. My wife wants to pour a concrete pad, but don't really have the spare cash for that either. Plus I think concrete is ugly in a landscape. It's fine where it's at for now. I was thinking to just lay down some pond liner( the woven base not the EPDM liner) because it's thicker than landscape fabric and throw down 3-4" of crusher run and too with pea gravel for aesthetics. What do you guys think. I always put wood down for the stabilizing legs and I would put ply wood under the tires or a concrete paver to spread out the weight. I just don't want to have it sink in or damage the tires. Storing it is a fortune $70-$80 per month.

Is the stone on high ground so it's well drained? Make sure drainage is good around the storage site.

Get underneath the unit and touch up any rust spots with rust conversion coating before the cold hits and the rain/snow start to fall. If you can, keep the unit shoveled out so air can circulate underneath on the better winter days.

Keeping it dry with good air circulation is more important than the surface you park it on.

There are also some rust preventative products available that will help keep the underside from rusting.

Yes I am on the high ground. The guy behind me his yard drops a foot or more.

Thanks for the tip about keeping snow from the base. I had not thought of that honestly. I usually do and the wind whips up my driveway so should be plenary of air space. Rust converter is a good idea too.

I just don't want it to sink in and have trouble getting it out in spring. That was more my question, but great bits of advice.

If you want to maximize the stability of the base, use item4 instead of crushed stone, use the item 4 beneath and on top of your fabric, and compact each layer of stone. If the ground your using isn't soft, that might be overkill though.

I'm pretty clay rich around here so that should be ok. Thanks. I don't mind a bit of overkill. I'd rather it hold longer than be iffy and run into an issue.
Thanks. I know landscaping, but the heaviest thing you put on a patio is a fat dude in a chair.

Throw a bunch of cheap drier sheets inside the unit.... mice hate them. If your lay down a silver tarp for a landing pad cover, the critters don't lije that either.

Dryer sheets work amazing. We do that. Not a single mouse turd all winter.

Mine is parked on gravel most of the year, either in our family "campground" my dirt drive way, or at a camp site. I have never had an issues.

Back in the "old days" when people stored vehicles, they would block under the axles, so the tires weren't actually in contact with the ground. I don't know if there's real validity to that, but it's what my grandfather always did.

That was probably more related to the old bias ply tires than anything else. Those things would flat spot something fierce until they warmed up a few miles down the road.

IIRC, there's a only a couple of specific brands that they really dislike. Can't recall which.
My father spent a couple of days sealing up any seams, cracks and holes underneath that they might try to squeeze through on their new camper and it seemed to do the trick. No bugs get in either.

I have no troubles at all with nice honestly. I also leave it in a city and on concrete so that might have something to do with it.
