They're inexpensive insurance and go on sale periodically. I put together a pretty extensive parts kit based on something I saw on a website. I think I posted a thread on it - I'll see if I can find it.

I used this example from ITS tactical to put together an organized spare parts bin. The 'oops kits" will help with a lot of the small parts. The hardest part was labeling the individual sections but it was worth the effort. You can easily see what you have in inventory and what you should...

Pro hint - they're under the washer or dryer and are unreachable...unless you have a drain in the room - then they're down there.

If you have the kit ahead of time, it's guaranteed you won't need it. If you DON'T have it, you'll lose at minimum 3 tiny pieces during the build.

I live in an old out of square house and I just have to look on the 'down hill' side of my gun room, that's where all the springs and dropped ammo end up!
For a one stop shop I'll use either palmetto, or primary arms, and the latter is a great company to deal with.
I now install the pivot pin with a pair of needle nose, and a razor blade. Nice and easy, although I will still install it inside a plastic bag just in case of a launch.

I will never use Optics Planet again. I tried to order a KAK Flash can and my order was cancelled citing:
"We have carefully reviewed the details of your order and some or all of the products you ordered are subject to United States federal, state and/or local government laws and regulations regarding the domestic sale of restricted products. We apologize, but at this time we are not able to proceed with processing your order. In order to ensure that we comply with all applicable laws and regulations we are forced to cancel your order."
When I had called them to inquire as to why I was told that maybe because my item was being shipped through a state where the product is deemed illegal.
That sounds like a complete crock of shit to me. How would other states know what is inside my parcel? I'm pretty sure it is some lame internal order from their risk management department to mitigate potential legal issues.
Anyway, that's why I refuse to use Optics Planet any longer.

I say write them, call them out! I got something from the NRA yesterday with a prepaid return envelope so I wrote them a note expressing my thoughts on their past performance and their future without me. Will it do any good? Probably not, but it made me feel better and sometimes that's enough.

Thanks for all the info on this thread. Got a bonus from work so I've earmarked some of that toward my first AR rifle. Shopping for a lower receiver now, want to support a LGS if possible but Runnings (semi local at least) has Anderson priced $45 (similar to online), but unfortunately currently out of stock at least at the Rome store. Stix n Stones has Aero for $89 which seems ok but I'm thinking I'd rather have 2 Anderson for the same $. Waiting to hear back from TRB's if they have any in stock.
I'm not gonna even waste my time, this is the email they sent me (minus my personal info and order # of course.

Ohms, I wish I had thought of it the other day when I placed my OP order, I would have included that part just to see what happens, would they cancel the whole order or just that part. I want one but am not ready for it yet. As it is, I just received another email from them, saying they haven't filled the order yet. Hmmm, never had that happen before.
