I was wondering the same thing. $3000 of church money to enter a raffle for a gun. What was his end game?
Was this the guy that bought the tickets so he could destroy the firearm? I remember a priest winning one with that intent, but I'm not sure if it was him.

So, how does he not get charged for transferring the rifle to someone else? Though they got him passing a background check for it, then he's no longer in possession of it, is letting someone just "hold" it for you just not considered transferring it? That's some bs. Unless I'm just not understanding the law or the wording.

It seems like they don't know who he transferred it to. He probably didn't tell them as to not incriminate himself.
