I was looking for a budget minded slide assembly. I found some sort of black friday sale on a Patmos "Judah", for stupid cheap. Reviews online are generally favorable so I gave it a try.
Out of the box its decent looking. I like the plain offering, not lightning cuts and scallops. Things went fine until I tried to put it on a frame, not so much. The slide back cover hangs down too low. Its installed correctly, it just to long. It will be a quick fix, I might even have a spare one, but if this is an indication of QC its not the best.

Looks like an 80% job. I know people (who know people (who know people)) who have a few of them and they mostly required some very light filing. After breaking them in, they are happy with their purchase and the $$$ saved.

What would be the purpose of an 80% upper? Its not the serialized portion of a firearm. The upper/slide portion can all be purchased just like any other part.

@Cavalry are you still happy with this Patmos slide?

Any issues other than the long backplate? Just to clarify, the issue was with the plate being too long and not in the milling, correct? I'll be replacing it anyway, so no worries if it's just the plate.

Here's my slide with a polymer 80 lower. Been keeping detailed records and I'm just under 2 cases of ammo through it. I trust it at this point to carry. I vaguely remember having a few (and I mean very few) hiccups in the very beginning after building the gun. That's all due to the build. You can get it near perfect before even firing it for the first time. You just gotta take your time and make sure you have everything right in the beginning. If you're gonna put it on an OEM frame you'll probably be good to go with no issues. One thing I will say is when you get it immediately throw the firing pin in the trash and get an OEM one. The one that came in the slide broke. I've never had a firing pin break in a gun in my whole life. Inspecting the pin you can see they use a cheap one. Research the subject and you'll see how to tell the difference.

Yes no problems otherwise. I have a few now, that was a one off problem. They are certainly not a premium part and the sights are garbage but they shoot decent.

Good to know, thanks. I intend to get it with the internals. This is for a EDC 43x. Just want to kick the tires on optics, so I'll keep the factory slide complete and have the option of running either optics or irons until I'm proficient with the RD.

Do either of you see any issue running the same barrel with both slides?

Should be no problem. I have an OEM 19 and barrel and then this build. I have the barrel this slide came with and an agency arms threaded barrel that I got for stupid cheap when midway was having a sale. Also have a threaded lone wolf barrel. In total 4 barrels and I've mixed and matched them all just to try different things out. Should be no issue running the same barrel in both slides but I'd say the barrel the patmos slide comes with is comparable to an OEM barrel. Does the slide you're getting not come with a barrel?

Same here. Externally, they measure in spec and pass a gage with no problem. I wouldnt exactly say OEM, no tenifer (although I dont think they do that anymore?), polished instead of blasted finish, and no poly rifling, which probably does not even matter. The biggest difference I found was Patmos uses a very aggressive muzzle crown.

I’ve been looking at different slide assemblies and interested in hearing what other slides you all like. I have a gen 5 Glock 19 frame and am looking to add an aftermarket slide with an RMR cut. I liked the way Zafirris slides looked but they are poorly reviewed on other subs. Any suggestions would be appreciated
