A co-worker and avid gun guy told me this:
He had recently sold some firearm “parts” on e-Bay. He accepted payment through PayPal (all normal so far…).
PayPal contacted him and blatantly told him “We don’t allow Gun Parts to be sold using PayPal. Now the first thing I thought is he is RECEIVING payment from a sale, not using PayPal to purchase them, and why wouldn’t they approach the buyer???
In any case they stated they were reviewing the transaction, froze his PP account, and told him that his funds could be held up for up to 180 days!
WTF???
As long as it isn’t illegal (I don’t know what he sold, but he is a collector of older style (1800’s to early 1900’s) rifles, accessories, and the like). He is a stand up guy; not one to risk selling something he shouldn’t.
Anyone had a similar run in??? BS if you ask me…
