I applied for my pistol permit in August, around the same time as my friend, my husband and my sister-in-law. I had my telephone interview first, on Nov 3. A couple weeks later my friend had hers, then my husband and SIL had in-person interviews on Nov 22. My sister-in-law got her permit in the mail a week ago and my friend got hers a couple days ago. Is there a reason mine wouldn't have come yet? My husband was falsely accused of some things during a tumultuous divorce fifteen years ago but everything was dismissed. I've never had any arrests or anything like that, but I was previously married to someone I ended up needing a restraining order against in the end, and then changed my name to my stepdad's last name instead of previous maiden name, and now that I'm married again I've had a total of four last names.
So, aside from sounding like people you'd find on Jerry Springer, does anyone have any thoughts on what could be the holdup? They had to call his ex to get her side of things, so I can see why his is taking longer... Do they do a separate background check for each of my embarrassingly long list of last names? Is it because of my previous marriage? They never even asked me about that in my interview and I keep thinking I'm going to get denied because my friend and SIL got theirs even though their interviews were weeks after mine, and we all live in Livingston county... Or are they holding mine up because they're still checking my husband's stuff?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts. I've been increasingly discouraged over this
