Pistol Permit/Broome County

So, I've decided I'm going to apply for a pistol permit again. (My 1st application was denied in 2010? 2012? I can't remember)

I was down at PA Guns and Ammo today, and saw quite a few hangduns I'd love to own, and it's long overdue for me to add some handguns to my collection.

I'm hoping I can take a basic handgun course before I submit my pistol permit application.

Friday when I get paid I'm going to sign up for a NY Handgun Course. I'll be able to go thru the class, I just won't be able to do the shooting part.

What was the cause for your denial? I know once you’ve been denied it makes it harder the next time you try.

You should be good to go then as long as it’s the same judge. Do you have any idea if it is? And if so be sure to remind him he told you you could reapply.

Might want to find out. You'll have to legally disclose that you've been denied before. This usually triggers good cause for another denial. I hope you have documentation from the prior judge saying that you could re-apply in the future. Even so, if it's not the same judge he may stand on the prior denial as just cause to deny. Explain all of this upfront.

I looked over the application twice, and I dont see anywhere where it asks if I was ever denied before...

I talked to the pistol clerk this morning, and he said disclose it on the application (I will if I can find it) plus they have it on file.
