Pistol permit reregistration question

So my 5 years is up and I just got my letter from the NYSP that is has to be done before my initial date. My initial date isn’t until October sometime. Say I do it now while it’s fresh in my mind in 5 years from now will my reregistration date be 1/16/2025?

I believe the original issue date remains the same.The girl at the county clerks office told me you could do it a couple months before,but I forget how many months before.

Mine was up this past October. As I recall, I did it in January 2019, and my renewal date stayed in October. You could also call Alan Brown at the office, and he should have a quick answer for you.
