I am always looking for a jusification to increase the gun herd and after Dr Evil's thread drifted in to pocket carry, I realized I really need a pocket carry. For those that do pocket carry could you please share some insights, such as ...
A) When you pocket carry is it your BUG or primary
B) What do you pocket carry & what is your defense round choice?
C) How tall and heavy are you? (If you do not mind, since Dr Evil's thread suprised me with little guys pocketing big guns)
D) What pocket holsters do you like?
E) Any comments on your pocket carry ( eg recoil, follow up shots, failures, carry weight, printing, grip changes, learn new methods, triggers, sights, clothing choices, etc

I thought I could conceal my P225 sig with the right holster and clothing options but I find in summer weight dressier clothes I may print a bit too much for my comfort around libs with 911 on speed dial or I have the tell tale gunbelt bulge where tucked. At 5' 11" (when I don't slouch like an old man) and 235 lbs ( yeah my college wrestling coach would $#it) AIWB probably ain't in the cards so I am looking at pockets. I figure the infrequent use of a pocket gun as a primary is better than a Kimber Pepperblaster. Lots of choices out there and nothing is perfect. Thought about P238 (but 380 has its challenges), P938 (potential reliability questions, some say fast accurate follow ups are a challenge), LCR (I have never mastered long wheel gun DA triggers), Kahr PM9 (long revolver like trigger), etc. I can technically fit and carry both my P225 and PPS M2 in DeSantis pocket holsters but I better not dance with strangers with that 30 oz Sig in my pocket. Honestly looking for insights. Thanks to all.

I dive a lot, obviously, so I'm limited to pocket carry more than I'd like. That being said:

A) Primary.
B) Sig P238 w/ Buffalo Bore 95Gr 380 +p.
C) 6'0", Big Fat Fuck
D) Desantis SupaFly. I love this thing. REALLY clings to the pocket, almost too much when trying to take off my gear at the end of the day.
E) Not really. I prefer my G26, but I've dropped trou enough on the dive boats that showing my twig and berries has incurred some negative comments by my buzzkill dive buddies.

Lots of pocket 9's out there. Colt defender. Kimber micro, kimber solo. Some are single action some are double action. I love my kimber solo except it has the long double action revolver like trigger. I don't carry it because of that and have those gut about selling it. It's a good reliable gun. I bought a Springfield xd and love it. There is the xds. Many many options just need to figure out what your looking for. I hate the beretta nano other than that they all seem pretty descent.

I keep my Beretta 32 INOX packed in one if my carry BOBs, but always used to wear it in any pocket of pants or shorts. Now my carry/sorta pocket is my 3" barrel 9mm stuffed up with Critical Defense Hollows..as is the Beretta. I'm 5'10 170lbs...brown hair brown eyes..ooo laa laaaa what a sexy chap!

If I pocket carry it's with a Colt Detective Special. I have some old Federal Nyclad rounds for it. I don't put it in a holster this way I can shoot through the pocket of my jacket if I have to. If it was printing, I'd fold a take out menu and line my pocket with it. Kind of a summertime thing for me.

I usually carry a 45 ACP or 9mm. I'm 6' tall around 230.

Check out the ruger lc9s. It's my daily carry. Very slim and light with a damn good trigger. I'm 5'10 155lbs , and it is just on the large side for me to pocket. My skinny ass Jean pockets are just a bit to tight, but alot of bigger guys pocket it no problem.

It's hard tompocket carry much of anything honestly. I have thought about a small .380 for that for the summer at times and dressing up. I'd probably go with the small kahr .380, but too long of a trigger for my liking.

A Sig P225 is like a duty sized Glock 19. Yes you can conceal it easily but no so in a wife beater and shorts.

Why not go with something with a shorter grip? Grip length is the main factor when it comes to concealing a handgun followed by the holster cant. The shorter the grip is, the less cant it needs to disappear and not poke out.

I can conceal a Glock 26 in swim trunks and a tank top. It was impossible with my 1911 of similar size to your Sig.

P238 and Glock 42 are easy to pocket carry in Desantis pocket holsters.

When pocket carrying:
A) Primary
B) either 9mm or 40S&W not really sure the brand but, usually it is a Federal HP
C) 6', 250#
D) Uncle Mike's
E) The XD 40 subcompact is very snappy, the Kimber micro 9 is pleasant.

Normally I wear a Kimber ultra carry 2 in .45 ACP on the hip in an OWB holster.

Is it feasible for someone my size (5'4" 152 lbs athletic) to pocket carry without wearing baggy clown pants and feeling like I have a brick in my pocket? Short muscular legs don't seem to blend well with a firearm in the pocket. It would only be a BUG BTW.

I am 5'7" 180 lbs. I tried to pocket carry my friends Glock 42 .380 which is the same size as the Kahr PM9 that I wanted to buy at one point and I couldn't do it wearing regular boot cut jeans from Levi that fit properly. The pocket has to be somewhat loose or else it looks like you are carrying something large in your pocket.

Ankle carry has been better for me in the situations that require a tucked in shirt.

No you are right but for what it is I fit the bg easily in my pocket and it looks like a wallet. Jeans, dress pants and shorts, fits in all. Of course the trigger pull sucks but it's not for a day at the range, it's for self defense only.

If I were a pocket carry guy, then yes I would gravitate towards a .380.
Or a .32 Seecamp in a wallet holster.(gasp!)
