If an 8 year old is too young to consent to sex (a brief act) surely they are too young to consent to *altering* their sex (a permanent act).

If their parents can't provide such consent on their behalf for the first act, why should they be considered competent to do it for the second ?

Or, maybe all the people pushing for the 1st of those will eventually be pushing for the second.....
