Every year the owner of the company would go to the Barrett -Jackson auction, usually in CT. Corvettes mostly, couple of older trucks, muscle cars. This was usually right after our "annual review". The "annual" part was very subjective, usually averaging about 17 months. Pay increases were usually $0.50-$0.75/hr.

The year he sold the company, he bought 2 corvettes including the 63 (?) Split window he'd been looking for.

He stayed on with the company as a "consultant" for over a year. Less than 6 months later, dropped dead of a heart attack at 58. His wife ended up with two barns full of antique and sports cars.

Hmmm did that red 63 split window not have the correct engine in it?

And if yes, it lives one farm down from mine.
