Here is a lovely bail fail story. The Bath Police Department arrested Shaylee Ridley, age 22, homeless, on November 1st for Criminal Contempt for violating a court order. Shaylee is a 2x convicted felon and has history of 6 bench warrants for failure to appear. Ms. Ridley also has several other open arrests she hasn’t been sentenced on. Ms. Ridley was taken to Steuben County CAP court where she was released without bail the following morning. Ms. Ridley was seen running down Rumsey St. back into the Village on November 2nd just after release. Approximately 40 minutes later, the Bath Police Department responded to a call from a neighbor at 17 Pine St stating an unknown female had just broke the rear window out of a vacant house and gone inside. Officers observed Ms. Ridley inside the house but she would not come out. After an approximate 45 minute wait the landlord arrived and provided a key to the residence and pressed charges on Ms. Ridley, whom he did not know. Ms. Ridley was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Mischief and Criminal Trespass. The landlord requested an order of protection and Ms. Ridley was taken back to CAP court where she was released without bail again. The Bath Police has continued dealing with complaints on Ms. Ridley since these incidents.
