They have to tell us, and do so blatantly or in riddles to be decoded. but we refuse to believe them or the possibility because it seems so absurdly challenging to our paradigm that they're summarily dismissed as impossible.
Decades of Child abuse/rape/murder accusations, Criminal activity, population control, demands of bans and the outlawing of property, et.al ALL goes overlooked and unpunished even when its right in our faces, we look to those who would prosecute anyone else only to find complicity and duplicity.

He protected not only the people in that restaurant, but the people in the next one this asshole was undoubtedly going to rob too.

I'm not sure how we decided to punish crime with incarceration, but it seems like a terrible way to do it.
