Here is the study to which this refers. This research was conducted in the late 80s into the 90s, and is fascinating. Old Testament literalists like to have this study in their citations toolbox as it infers natural oil formation is possible on a "thousands of years" timescale, rather than the more accepted [solely] "millions of years". This group (OT literalists) is usually an easy target to debunk any "studies" they tend to cite, so the fact that this one was buried instead of pulled apart speaks to its rigor.
