Why SVB collapsed: 1. Massive fixed income securities book (much of it acquired when rates low in 20-21) 2. Higher rates make these worth less. And make the cost to bring in deposits keep rising. 3. Too many (large) uninsured deposits mean the money goes fast in risk.
