While the possibility that J6 was completely staged in an effort to discredit calls for investigation into the voting irregularities is VERY high, almost all cell phones turn the screen off when held to the ear, even while a call is in progress. This is so you don't inadvertently hang up on the other party or activate any other apps with your ear.
I don't think I've ever owned a touch-screen cell phone that DIDN'T blank the screen when held to the ear. This predates the fake election by quite a large time frame.
