And they want to raise corporate taxes so that they "pay their fair share", and they swear that will come out of profits and not be passed on to consumers.

When you point out that tarrifs *are* corporate taxes, because nearly everything that get imported is imported by a corporation, suddenly they recognize that they're going to pass the costs on.

The level of cognitive dissonance it takes to pull that off is mind blowing.

Funny. I was out to dinner with friends last night, and my buddy was angst because he left his phone in his car. When asked why he was concerned he said that he always has it in case of an active shooter. (Low likelihood as our dinner location was pretty rural) I had to bite me tongue as I was legally CCing at the time. Now he's not anti-gun and even has his CCW. I wanted to say "Your PHONE??? WTF are ya gonna do? throw the fucking thing at them?" The response time where we were would be no less than 10-15m minimum.
