The problem is that as soon as *anyone* can be denied due process, everyone can.
Illegal immigrants are not citizens and therefore are not entitled to the protections of the constitution. The distinction between citizens and non-citizens is very easy to make so I don't see any slippery slope about denying due process.The problem is that as soon as *anyone* can be denied due process, everyone can.
If you don't get due process to determine if you are a citizen or not, then citizens can be denied as easily as anyone else.
But, this is the wrong conversation to have.
It accepts the left wing lie that these people *didn't* get due process. They did.
Due process doesn't require a hearing in front of a judge for deporation, anymore than a conviction at trial is required before putting someone in jail.
Both just require probable cause and no judge signoff is necessary.
Because the due process that the innocent are afforded happens *after* the jail or deportation.
