I have seen the waste in the city of Syracuse and surrounding school systems for years first hand.
In the summer reams of copied 1+1=, 1+2= papers tossed into the dumpster.
In one basement a pile of pens, pencils, compass, rulers, paper, folders, etc, all donations from surrounding businesses, laying in a pool of water, the pile was about 20' around and 3' high. Water was from leaking basement walls, talked to the janitors and " just haven't gotten around to tossing it all out". Asked if I could have some. I never bought my kids any school supplies after that. Other than backpak, scientific calculator, etc..
The teachers should say not my problem, they need to think out side the box. Plus, reading, writing, arithmetic, only needs books, A pencil, A sheet of paper, black/ white board.

The "Administrators" in many of the Districts are the ones pulling down six figures with all the perks and benefits, and having seen and actually heard from my Wife and DIL that work in the Schools, they're grossly over paid and most are just fucking idiots that screwed their way into the positions.
