Wonder of they care that it's a Federal Felony to interfere with an Aircraft, and authorities DO catch dip-shits lazing aircraft arresting them with high Bonds...Being a Pilot, and a Skywatcher of sorts, I will tell you it's very difficult to distinguish Military from Civilian Aircraft in the dark even IF you can discern the sounds and Navigational Lights, from the Military side, I expect the Helicopter Pilots have counter measures and training to handle the situation in ways Civilian Pilots would not.
I fully expect that there will be LE watching and waiting for someone to shine one...I also expect the "take down" to be by the book and as brutal as allowed.
