Much as I am not in favor of the rioters, I like secret police even less.

I am sure things have been embellished quite a bit for this story, but even hints of that sort of thing can't be tolerated.

When the police come to your house under normal conditions they are in uniform.
When they come During abnormal conditions they are in a different uniform more paramilitary, swat, riot gear, etc.
Should they roll up in armored vehicles in military garb? Hell no, but we let them "for their safety".

From what I’ve seen there are guys in black tactical uniforms that have no organisational insignia or identifying features; then there are guys in brown tactical uniforms that have “police” placards front and back, organisational emblems on both shoulders, and a unique identifying number on their chest. Only one group is “secret”; marked vehicles have been attacked with incendiary weapons, I would not get in one. From the “arrest” I saw, it seems more like a CI or an informer who needed to come in.

They are letting them get away with attempted arson (launching fireworks into an occupied building and just assuming someone is standing by with a fire extinguisher to put out the fire is at least attempted arson in my book)

IMHO they should just be killing them at this point. Launch a roman candle, catch a lead telegram. They'll get that message quickly.
