With just days to go until the statute of limitations ran out, disgraced former FBI Director James Comey has been indicted on two of three counts sought by prosecutors - one count of making false statements and one count of obstruction of justice - just days after President Donald Trump issued a public demand for his Justice Department to act "now" to bring prosecutions against Comey.

Sounds to me Comey got a deal. What did we get?
I mean I read the Muller report and its clear the intentions of his actions were to deny Trump a presidency through impeachment and re-election. Now many of the charges he could have been charged with have met the statue of limitations. They could have sent him away for a very long time. But each one of the counts still can carry its own separate conspiracy charge to cover it up and the DOJ didn't go after that. So what did we get? Comey isn't going to jail and if he is, it will be for a short time.
We all know Trump likes leverage. I mean we've seen the EU and UK banking globalist capitulating to him and its likely the Epstein honey pot scandal that he is leveraging.
I'm good with it. Dismantle the network of control over out govt.

I think I read that the maximum punishment possible is 5 years in prison.
Assuming he gets ANY prison time, it will likely be in the federal "golf course" prison instead of a real one.
Other than the ability to boast "WE ARE WINNING!!!!!" some more, this is pointless.

I get this but my thought is this will simply feed into Trump prosecuting his enemies, democracy ending, Republicans are bad for what? He likely won’t do time and possibly won’t be convicted. I can see it now special counsels and prosecutors being hired and millions being spent. He’s a nobody now. Maybe if he was still in office I’d be more on board with it. This will change nothing and won’t make our country a better place. Put the time, money, and effort elsewhere.

The FBI became an SS for the Democratic Party and China.
He should be executed for Treason.

I get why you think it's a waste money and political look wise but I'd look beyond that. We spend more on court cost for criminals all the time. Some guy steals $100 in merchandise from a store. They end up getting a court appointed lawyer, there is a prosecuting attorney, a judge, the courtroom officer(s), stenographer, paying for the building, power, heating the courtroom, etc. This costs way more than the $100. Yet we do it to keep order. If we just let people get away with shit it sends the signal that it's OK. I'm not down with that. What price are you willing to put on the rule of law?
As to the retribution part, if he did it then its not retribution, it's upholding the law. I think the major parties are far too willing to turn a blind eye if it's their team committing a crime. It goes both ways and it needs to stop. Uphold the law and be blind about it.
