I don't see why laws aren't evaluated based on their performance. Even though there are constitutional and historical reasons you would want to be armed, protection is also a reason that works.

Since gun control laws haven't reduced gun violence, they should be thrown out at least on the grounds they're ineffective.

They are not dumb. The ambulance would likely transport to the nearby Midhudson Regional Medical Center of Westchester Medical (just awarded a "C" safety rating) and they drove themselves to Vassar Brothers Medical Center (just awarded an"A" safety rating). That is one way that if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor.
