Heard through the rumor mill that there is a new gun shop in Poughquaq, NY. Said to be off Rt. 55. I have no more details. Any one else know or have been to this shop?

It's not always just about the shitty state. He's on the border of Putnam and Dutchess..mighty fine gun loving free areas..otherwise 3 gun stores wouldn't have opened in a 15 mile radius.

Yeah,Beekman Rd and Rt 55.Its been there over a year.I stopped in and bought some ammo,asked about trading in a handgun,guy that was there said I would have to come back on Saturday when somebody else was there,he wasnt authorized to make trades.Theres a much better store a couple miles away on Rt 82,Collector Rifle and Ammo,its been there at least 20 yrs I know of.I've bought a few guns from him and quite a bit of ammo over the years,always had a good experience there.

don't know if it's been updated or so, haven't been there since I lived in Beekman and left in 2000 to the Catskills.

He expanded into the tattoo shop that used to be next door,but the front is still the same,still got that "rat hole" feel.I recently traded for a XD mod 2 in .45,got a good deal I think.

I think this is the place I stopped at a few months ago. Took about 5 minutes to say "nope". High priced ammo and watched the guy behind the counter try to put a magazine in a 1911 backwards as he was explaining the gun to the customer. He tried several times and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't go in.
Also, a store opened in Wurtsboro on 209 next to Stewart's. One is opening on 9W in Milton soon.

Sounds like a new store on every corner. Had one open near me this winter too. I really hope they last but I feel the market isn't what it used to be a year or two ago when they decided to get into the business. The reality is there is a lot of competition with on line sales so they really need to offer something you can't get elsewhere.

If you know the area, you can't get more dead on with the location. Nothing about what kind of shop it is, or any "real" info that I could find. Mail box (needs attention) was the only real clue.

Know it. Lakeside Licks is the ice cream place and there have been many pizza shops open where the Mexican place currently is. Don't know how the Mexican place is staying in business. As far as food places, nothing has lasted too long in that little strip. About 2 minutes from where I live lol.
