Yesterday we took a ride to Greatbendand New Milford Pa. TO visit with Jamie at Pa. Guns & Ammo and then checked out Blue Ridge Outfitters. Blue Ridge has a decent shop there. Lots of guns, some black powder and archery stuff. In the reloading room there was a decent selection of used dies and a good selection of one pound containers of powder.

Acer, get it while you can. I suspect they will further tighten the already onerous restrictions for black powder. As it stands now, you can have it delivered to your door.

I have dealt with both these outfits without any problems. You are not allowed to resell black powder so I usually get a few guys together and buy in bulk. If this idea interests you and you need someone to go in with you let me know.

No!!!! If people want to use it I have no problem but they might. It has what are called percolates in it which find their way into the pores of steel and begin their evil rotting almost immediately after ignition. Besides it doesn't work reliably in flint locks without a compound load, meaning you dump a bit of real black powder in first so it is against the touch hole, this will ignite the pyrodex, too much hassle. A pyrodex load itself is difficult to ignite from the primer powder in the pan, it has a much higher ignition point. Clean up with black powder is done with plain old tap water, or you can catch rain water if you are on a well and have hard water. Ten minutes or less and my gun is clean and ready to rack.

A friend of mine use to have a small gun shop and sold black powder, he had to have the bunker to store it. He put it behind his house in the goat pasture so he didn't have to do any maintenance like mowing around it. He told me the guy that came to inspect was not amused but he wasn't violating any code.

Maybe he felt a bit anxious or nervous around goats.
