Slowly been refining my reloading game without making too many changes all at once. Been using my RCBS Chargemaster Lite for 18-24 months now. Always wondered just how accurate it really is.
Someone on another forum uses this scale from US Solid. For the asking price I decided to see what is was all about. Certified accurate to .001gr.
To be fair to both scales, I didn't warm them up. The precision scale recommended one hour. They both got maybe 5 minutes. I set the RCBS to throw 35.0gr of H4350 and threw back any overthrows. I had been setting it to .2gr under my desired charge and hand dropping kernels until it crept up to my goal weight. Thought this would be a more accurate method.
Placed a full charge on the precision scale. I did do a quick test and it will detect one additional kernel of H4350.
Here's the results:
35.062
34.938
34.954
35.000
34.985
35.108
35.000
35.000
35.077
35.000
To my surprise the RCBS actually throws pretty damn well....and even hit a few right on the money. When I get some time I'll do some weights on bare bullets. Enjoy.
