US Attorney Preet Bhara has been asked by the justice department to resign.

Bharara, who was appointed by Obama in 2009, told reporters in November that then-president-elect Donald Trump had asked him to stay at his post. At the time, Bharara also said that he had filled in his future boss, Sessions, of his decision: “He also asked that I stay on, and so I expect that I will be continuing.”

But the Justice Department’s latest move does appear to include Bharara. Sources told the New York Times that the high-profile prosecutor received a call from Dana Boente, the acting deputy attorney general, asking him to resign. The Justice Department later confirmed. A spokesman for Bharara declined to comment earlier.

Preet had his chance and didn't deliver. I've always been skeptical of his willingness to take down monkey-face due to his close connection with chucky. There's so much smoke around monkey-face that there's got to be a fire burning there. Instead of going after everyone around him Preet should have gone for cuomo directly but chose not to.

Plus it's common practice to replace these guys in the first year or so he should have known his time was limited. If he was close to an indictment he should have made it known behind the scenes. Hopefully his replacement will dig in.

Just saying I'd argue that CEOs are the most corrupt people. I'd say it's politicians. Trump might want some one to go after cuomo harder than Preet. Trump has battled with Cuomo. Also if he puts successful CEOS in office I don't have a problem with the government being run like a business. We need to cut costs or we're screwed and it won't take too long before we get to that point. The issue is everyone still wants to be reelected so no one will make the hard choices. I hope Trump will make the hard choices. Time will tell.
