From an optics perspective, I agree. I have no idea who had what intent. I think there are the obvious suspects, and many people are going to arm-chair weigh in during this moment on who did what. We won't know right away.
But from a pure optics end, Biden is done for. Between all the beatings Trump has taken in the media, and now this? The fist pump basically looks like this to people watching:
