caltrops. An area denial weapon and force multiplier, Once used by the Roman army against Calvery or infantry. They would be placed along probable Caverly routes , or thrown in front of defensive formations or walls, they always land point up. They were used even in the civil war. today they can range in size and be used on streets to stop cars or crowds or in blind spots where you could not see a person. Obviously these could be used only in desperate situations , buts its always good to have options
