I'm opposed to statehood beyond the obvious Senate ramifications. The idea behind the nation's capital not being beholden to any specific state's interests is important in my book.

If they make DC a state they need to allow other states to split. Like NYS and California into 3 states as they wanted. There’s no reason not too. Right now I think it’s nostalgia to have 50 states. If we go to 51 no need to stay nostalgic.
