Palmetto State Armory has some deals on AR-10 uppers and lowers now.
Does anyone have opinions on their stuff for a cheap .308?

Thanks. PSA stuff constantly on sale. Wait a few days and will be back in stock.I waited too long. Its sold out.
PSA AR-10 stuff is supposed to be DPMS pattern.
Thanks. I saw that and ordered one yesterday. I posted in the "what did you get" thread, but forgot to post here.@kev74 - $399 for complete upper - blemished
BLEM PSA Gen2 PA10 20" Rifle Length .308 WIN 1/10 Stainless Steel 15" M-lok Upper - with BCG and CH - 5165447981B
Can't say I'm a fan of psa... They refused to ship a mossberg Shockwave to this state despite my ffl having a 20ga one on the shelf.
Found a better deal on the 12ga from gun buyer instead.
They might make good stuff but that issue rubbed me the wrong way.
This was months ago and my ffl was on hold with them for over an hour and they red flagged the order and gave 5 days until it was canceled but notified me only 2 days ahead. So upon hearing that he was on hold for so long I told him to hang up and I called and canceled the order.Huh? A customer just had one shipped to my shop last week.
I canceled my order with Palmetto. I ordered a lower to go with the upper and the lower order got canceled. Palmetto won't ship a complete lower to New York. They are perfectly happy to ship me the same lower and parts kit unassembled for $50 extra, plus about $25 in extra shipping charges.
We've got enough bullshit laws here in NY that I won't do business with anyone who wants to pile on more restrictions. FUAC!
The search for a nice longer range gun continues.....
I did it right. I didn't give my money to assholes who think Monkeyface and the un-Safe law didn't go far enough. You did it wrong, you need to order the rifle kit which has everything to build the rifle and then have a stripped lower sent to your ffl.

I took a ride to see that Bullet Guy fella a week or 2 ago, but he told me he closed his shop and turned it into a house - I think its a cover for a gay brothel. In any case, I left empty handed. There are plenty of dealers in ny that can get you what you want.
I find it real interesting that people want to buy online to save a few sheckles. Then complain that online retailers dont do what you want. Buyers do not support the locals , then complain they cant get what they want.
I need all my sheckles. Must save where I can. I try to support local as much as possible but if I can save over 100$ I'll go online for sure. There are plenty of dealers in ny that can get you what you want.

Thanks pal.Ha ha ha.
Yup. I plan to do online only when/if i return.
Better money to rent as a house than to use as a shop.
Online only. I may add a “will not ship to ny” as well!
The only thing of theirs I wouldn't recommend are their AKs, they are absolute junk. Spend a few hundo extra and get a WASR.
I remember when WASRs were considered "junk".
They are still the bottom of the barrel of serviceable rifles, along with stuff like NPAPS, However they wont start falling apart after 2000 rounds or blow up. Sadly most American made AKs can't do the same. Weather its the machined receiver cracking after 1000 rounds or the finish on the barrel igniting after a few magdumps.
Buy a WASR or NPAP. If you want to support an American company my advice is save some dough and buy a rifle from one of the builders that makes rifles from parts kits.
Heres the buyers guide from the AK47 Reddit.
Only thing I'll throw out is that PSA used to have issues with credit card security... I don't know if they've fixed it, but I'd recommend using a one-time CC number or privacy.org (never used that site before, only heard of it)
The RAS47 should have the (DO NOT BUY THIS RIFLE) designation. I bet there are a few others on that list that should have that designation as well. I agree though that foreign parts kits is where it's at. Americans simply have not been making these rifles long enough to compete with the quality. I got super lucky with the 74 in my profile pic. It was an all matching virgin bulgarian kit. The parts weren't even blued. I got it for $1200 and put it on a nodak spud receiver.
I have a WASR from around 2002 that has had thousands and thousands and thousands of rounds through it and is still shooting great. Many rounds were using a bumpfire stock.Funny I have a Romanian AK that has to be 20 some years old now and all it does is eat ammo. Thing has never jammed and I must have thousand's of round though it by now.
How i miss the old days.
