I went down to a local gun show today with no intention of buying anything in particular. I ended up walking out having put a new Kel Tec RDB C on layaway. I’ve done the fixed magazine AR thing in the past, but I’ve honestly found myself a bit burned out on the AR platform in general as of late. I like the concept of a handy featureless rifle that runs standard mags.I look forward to trying this rifle out. I’m also looking for recommendations on what optic I should throw on this thing. Currently considering a vortex 3x prism scope, but would welcome other suggestions.

I’ve got one, it’s a fun rifle. It’s wood and stainless. It has expensive proprietary mags, and isn’t all that accurate. I’ll enjoy them both for what they are.

I have that optic on my PCC. I love it. Wish they made it for 9mm so that the subsequent lines would be accurate.

Also, you may have to mess with the gas a bit to operate with what your loading it anyhow but mine does not like cheap shit ammo at all. Also , 3 screws around the magwell were almost backed out all the way after about 50 rounds through it but it’s a Kel-Tec so you should be warned. Using a Vortex Strikefire Red/Green dot on mine. Hope you enjoy your new toy!!

Question. How did you get around the adjustable stock and the threaded barrel? I thought the RDC-S came with both unlike the RDB-C?

Looks like it's all pinned up based on the pic he shared. Thread protector up front and I'm just making an assumption on the stock. Could of also got the models mixed up

Yes, Exonautic is correct, thread protector and they pinned the stock before transferring to me.

That sounds oddly familiar .....congrats, I was in the same boat. I have several Excellent AR variations that are flawless, but I would have one of these even if I didn't live in the gulag. As a matter of fact I now have 2. As awkward and ugly (some say) as it may look, I find it quite pointable and natural to have my trigger grip more in line with the bore. Less recoil and I swear it's a pretty crisp 3 pound trigger ,albeit with small takeup. The only issue I"ve encountered is the rail mount (definitely needs bolstering) But just keep an eye on screws, blue locktite.
The S is a blast with the open sights, but use what ever you have with the C. I have the Burris 3x , but it sucks to add weight /change balance to these things. (my opinion ) Good luck , enjoy.
Oh and besides the bottom eject dropping a neater pile, and for leftys like me (be careful on bench) the charger is reversible as well in a few minutes.

The only issue I have had with cheap steel is no fire. Light strike, recessed primer (berdan) or tough primer? I have to run some through my mil spec AR to compare. Any generic factory brass is fine so far.

You have there! How do you like that Burris scope? I have watched a few reviews on their product line, but I’m unsure of how they hold up long term. Is that a standard RDB handguard that you’ve replaced your stock one with? I thought of doing that with a green hand guard for a two tone look. I’ve also seen aluminum Mlok compatible handguards available.

Dont know if anyone here watches nutnfancy but he did an EXCELLENT review of the rdb-c about a year ago.

I have owned 2 keltec su16s and they have been excellent for what they are. No fit or function issues. I dont know why people love to bash keltec - I personally am a fan. Enjoy that rifle I'm jealous:)

Oh and if/when I get to pick one of these up I'd go w a holosun 403c dot. 2 moa 50k hours battery life, auto turn on and turn off, AND solar panel as primary/secondary energy source. Have a couple. For less than $200 cant beat it in my opinion.

Thanks! Yes that is the standard RDB, I ordered it thinking i wanted the bottom rail. But?? I like burris 332 alot, I got a hell of deal on it, and a rebate got me the crossfire, now they are offering the combo, but a hundred more than what i paid. I like the fact that the reticle is permanent, with out being lit up (dead battery , still usable, or to save battery). I am also looking at the halosun or sig romeo. I like the sig motion activation??
