An american (Joe) and a soviet citizen (Boris) were waiting for the subway in Moscow one day. While they were waiting, Boris extolled to Joe the virtues and magnificence of the soviet subway system. The tracks were polished and the cars were the cleanest in the world said Boris because there is nothing too good for the soviet citizenry.
After 45 minutes of more bragging about the wonders of the soviet system Joe finally said to Boris: "That's all very well and good but we've been waiting over an hour and not a single train has come."

This joke probably came from Ronald Reagan during one of his senile moments. The train in Moscow subway system would come every two minutes. You didn't even have enough time to admire the artwork around you. In NYC you will stand for 15-30 minutes and smell the old piss.

And China remained a 3rd world country under communism for 50 years, then they started embracing some elements of capitalism and they rocketed to their current status as a world leading economy.
History has shown that Facism is by far the most efficient way to run a country. It is just not desirable for other reasons.
Lassiez faire capitalism allows progress at nearly the rate of Facism, but without all the tyranny.
Our current system is approaching some bastardized version of Facism that takes the worst aspects of both. We get out of control government, *and* robber barons.

Tell that to Czar Nicholas II. He missed the boat. Stalin knew without industrialization Russia will be carved up and disappear from the map. There wasn't much time left.
Communism can be built in theory, in reality it requires the entire population to put the interests of the society above self-interest. That can never happen on enough scale. Lenin probably had some doubts so he threw in electrification of the country. It didn't hurt.
He also threw in mass murder and arrests. Can't make that omelet without breaking a few eggs and all that.

Best Education system in the world. Not just free, mandatory healthcare for children. Free after-school activities. Free summer camps. Unlimited opportunity for any child to participate and expend his interest in sports, music, arts, technology. When Soviets said children are our future, they meant it.

Actually I read that joke in the NY Times many years ago, before it became the woke piece of kotex that it is today.
I rode the subways in Moscow, Leningrad and Kiev. Soviet subway system was simply amazing. Anyone who has doubts, google it.
