I am in the process of applying for a Putnam pistol permit, looking for advice on the following.

"You should submit a detailed statement indicating the type of license that you are requesting as the reason or purpose for justifying the issuance of the license"

TYPES OF CARRY LICENSES
Hunting and Target .
Sportsperson .
Business Purposes

Should I put all three types on application, as I would like to use it for all three. How should the detailed statement be worded?

I applied for my hunting and target first , then upgraded to a carry permit after 6 months and a live fire training class. As for wording I don't remember what i wrote but it was short and sweet , something of the tune " i am requesting this permit for all legal and lawful purposes" . these guys are getting alot of applications in sure they don't want a novel.

In putnum you should be safe for Sportsman. Try to make it brief as mentioned above, and just say that you enjoy many Outdoor sporting activities such as hunting, camping , fishing , hiking, ATV riding, walking, Etc. Many of these locations you enjoy doing this are known for wild animals and you intend to carry for all lawful purposes.

I dropped of application on October 2016. Only one of my references is from Putnam, the others are Westchester, this was not a problem.
I had my interview / fingerprints August 2017. My references received the letter the following day.

I took the class at Adaptive shooting in Pawling, they informed me if I bought a pistol and added it to my application that it will get added to my permit and save another several month wait to add.

When I dropped of my application they told me only LEO can add pistols and I will have to apply to add weapons after receiving permit.

The letter I received from the Sheriff for the interview had in handwriting at the bottom "bring proof of weapons"

I brought the receipt for handgun, the took a photocopy and added it to my file. The Sheriff said it should be on permit when I get approved.

They told me it could be another few months.
