Anyone know what the current time frame is for Putnam County permit?

The last I have heard, it is a 8-12 month wait for photos and prints. After that is completed, figure 6-8 weeks and you will have your permit.
The 8-12 month was about 6 months ago. Have you had your prints and photos taken yet?

I'm Inquiring for a family member ... he should have everything submitted as soon as he takes the safety course in May. So from the time of submission he's looking at 8 month to a year possibly a year and a half.
About the same westchester took me i guess. 6 months wait for the appointment, another 4-6 to get the permit. Implement every legal and burocratic process possible to slow the process.

I dropped of application on October 2016. Only one of my references is from Putnam, the others are Westchester, this was not a problem.
I had my interview / fingerprints August 2017. My references received the letter the following day.
I took the class at Adaptive shooting in Pawling, they informed me if I bought a pistol and added it to my application that it will get added to my permit and save another several month wait to add.
When I dropped of my application they told me only LEO can add pistols and I will have to apply to add weapons after receiving permit.
The letter I received from the Sheriff for the interview had in handwriting at the bottom "bring proof of weapons"
I brought the receipt for handgun, the took a photocopy and added it to my file. The Sheriff said it should be on permit when I get approved.
They told me it could be another few months.
