Question about NYC rifle permit and next steps after approval.

I I have been unable to get much information on the rifle permit process. I applied for one and after going for fingerprinting and paying the fees, it was eventually approved, but since then I have not had any new information.

Do they mail the permit to you, or do you have to go to the courthouse at 120-55 Queens Blvd, B-11 to pick up the permit after it is approved?

The whole process has been confusing especially since the website for the online application does not give any instructions specific to non-law enforcement individuals applying for a permit, and the email they send you after applying, offers no instructions.

Yes, basically the information provided is not very informative, After first going through the online process and receiving the email that provides the application number, and then next steps where you are contacted on when to come in for fingerprinting and fees. After that, it goes into another long process where nothing happens when you check the application status online, then one day when you go to check it, it gets listed as approved, but then there is no information available as to what comes next.

Even a google search returns no results where even the word is even mentioned. With that being said, I honestly have no idea as to the next step. They do not email you when the status changes to approved, thus I was wondering if anyone else went through this process before, and if so, did they have to go back to the licensing division at the courthouse, or was it mailed to them?

Call the license division. I do believe though that you have to pick it up.

I will try calling them, then. Though I wish they mailed those things, especially since with the recent changes by the mayor, Queens blvd has even less parking, thus I am stuck taking 2 buses and a train to get there if I do not want to spend 2+ hours looking for parking.
