Question for Henry Big boy owners (.357)

Anyone experience discoloring of receiver and other brass-lite parts?
What do you folks clean the brass-lite surfaces with?
Wish I could polish, but it's not brass.

From what I've read that is a zinc alloy plated with brass part. Depending on how thick the plating is you may not be able to do much. You would have to find out how thick that plating is before doing anything.

If it turns out to be a thin plating you could always strip it and plate it yourself. I've used these guys and nickel plated my colt junior at home. The plating is very hard and thick and not going anywhere.

I believe Henry suggests only using a clean dry cloth, no chemicals.

That's called patina. It doesn't look bad to me.

Henry owners manual suggests using Peek Metal Polish, Flitz, or Nevr Dull. Mine seems fine at the moment
so I have never tried any of these.

10-04 on patina. It's funny, when looking at the receiver when its brand new you could perfectly see your reflection.
Looking at the receiver now, the receivers kind of saying fuck you, years later I have facial patina just the same.
Kind of cancels out the issue! LOL!
