I've been having issues with my primer feed (SPP). Sometimes the primer seating cup (13825) fails to pick up a primer.
I tried bending the operating rod (13869) because it seemed like the primer slide (13920) was not traveling fully outward during the cycle. This helped, but didn't quite solve the issue.
I tried cleaning all related parts with alcohol prep pads, and made sure not to over-tighten the primer housing screws (14014). Also made sure to tighten the outer primer screw (closest to you) first.
I tried lubricating the primer slide (13920) and the under side of the primer housing (20263) with powdered graphite.
I checked to make sure the plastic end-cap on the small flexible orifice (14024) on the small primer magazine tube (22030) was not cracked.
I then came across a post on another forum advising the tweaking of the slide pickup adjustment screw (13961), which said to loosen the screw until you can successfully pick up a primer 10 times in a row. Unfortunately I cannot find this post again. Ten in a row was easily achieved, but the problem persists.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any tips on properly calibrating the slide pickup adjustment screw?
