I'll parade a bit of my ignorance in celebration of the new year. There's a lot of scopes on the market that tout having "turrets resettable to zero" and far fewer that have a "zero stop".
#1- I think that resettable turrets allow you to zero a rifle, and then adjust the position of the turret knobs so that if you change the elevation and/or windage, simply setting the turrets back to zero will "re-zero" the rifle. Do I have a correct understanding?
#2 - What exactly is a zero stop, how does it work, and why would I want it? It seems to be an expensive option, generally found on high end tactical scopes.
Thanks.
