Heads up that myth of wait a year is BS from some Unscrupulous builders from days ago. I have painted and stained wood installed outside for years days after it was installed. Simple ask Paint manufacturer for there conditions to apply and all will be good. 7-12% moisture on the meter for the boards and outside temp 65 to 80 air temp was where I was applying and never had call back or a failure. Best to check many locations on the material for more accurate readings. I am willing to bet they said no paint or stain for a year because that is what there warranty has to be for new builds. So wouold cost more to repair problems if warranty work is needed. So get educated from the paint and stain suppliers they know there product! Does any one ever wait 1 year to do any painting or staining of wood inside? Pressure treated tends to hold more moisture then non in My experience. But stack it right outside or put a fan on it and it dries up quickly.
Thanks that just turned out to be luck its standard SW deck color the manager wanted the stain to be neutral or light. The clear doesn't provide any UV protection so we went with light. It is pretty close to color used on siding though.Matches siding nicely
