The story so far:
I decided to add the Leupold VX-3i 4.5-14×50 CDS scope that I already had, as an additional scope on this rifle , for long range hunting.
Took some digging, as Warne had discontinued their Tactical rings for 1" tube scopes a couple years ago ( they still offer 30mm). Got lucky and found a set as NOS on EBay for $90. With today's delivery I was able to (finally) add the Leupold lens set that I had swiped from it to use on the other scope I have for it, the Leupold VX-R 4-12×50 pictured below it. Along with the lens shades, I think it looks great. Very pleased.
Waiting on my Timney trigger to show up, and eventually a case of Hornady Precision Hunter cartridges, with a new CDS dial tuned for that load. On paper, that will give me 600 potential on deer-sized game. That requires 14.25 MOA of elevation @ 600 yards, (with a 200 yard zero) and the dial is 15 MOA/revolution.
The pace is slow because we are still saving for the mountain home in Kentucky, but all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
